About Terry Hitchcock

Against all odds on the highways of America, Terry Hitchcock, in 75 days, carved his name into the history books as perhaps one of the most famous long distant runners of our times by running the equivalent of a marathon each day for 75 consecutive days – over 2,000 miles. An only child raised by his grandparents, Terry rose from valleys of discouragement and despair to the pinnacles of success. Today, he is on his way to becoming one of the most popular motivational speakers in the United States.

It took years of fierce determination to overcome obstacles and criticisms, yet Terry achieved his dream -- to raise awareness about the plight of single parents and their kids. As fans lined the streets and highways of this country cheering TER-RY, TER-RY, TER-RY, he crossed the ‘finish line’ at Centennial Park in Atlanta, Georgia to accomplish the seemingly impossible.

Terry has entertained international corporate audiences with a unique, passionate, and heartfelt style of communicating. He reaches schoolchildren, university students, corporate and community audiences and professional athletes with the same enthusiasm, portraying the human spirit that comes from his personal experiences of adversity and triumph.

His captivating personality and powerful messages of “NEVER GIVE UP”, "NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE", and "YES I CAN" stays with his audiences forever.

In addition to his motivational speaking, Terry has authored the successful book American Business: The Last Hurrah? and co-authored several books, including: A Father’s Odyssey: 75 Marathons in 75 Consecutive Days.

He has also established the Heroes & Dreams Foundation whose mission is to help children of all ages around the world reach their full potential. The Heroes & Dreams Foundation develops and supports programs that positively impact the lives of children cognitively, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The Terry Award Program was created by the Heroes & Dreams Foundation to recognize children who make an outstanding, exceptional effort to do their personal best every day, overcome obstacles, set goals, stay on track to reach their Dreams and build the qualities of Character, Courage, Contribution, and Commitment into their lives every day.

In addition to his work instituting the celebration of Grandparent's Day in most Western countries, Terry Hitchcock established the largest business incubator in the United States, creating or helping to establish more than 83 companies, creating more than 1,500 new jobs, and transferring technology from the private to the public sector. Ronald Reagan and the Presidential Task Force honored Terry's work with a Medal of Merit and an American Flag.

In 2009, Indiewood Pictures, in association with Destiny Pictures, produced the inspirational documentary My Run, narrated by Academy Award Winner Billy Bob Thornton, and based on the incredible story of Terry Hitchcock. They are currently developing Terry's story into a narrative feature film called Pushing Life.
